About POLS
You already know the challenges facing education. The question is: are you prepared to be part of the solutions?
Here at the Stanford University School of Education (SUSE) we believe that commitment and passion are only the first steps towards changing the way we view and participate in education. We know you have the drive; we’re here to give you the expertise and management tools you need to be a dynamic force in improving education.
The Master’s Program in Policy, Organization, and Leadership Studies (POLS) draws upon an integrated knowledge base and the expertise of renowned faculty to create an experience that fully immerses you in the core areas of policy, organization, and leadership studies and gives you the opportunity to explore other relevant themes such as cultural diversity and language acquisition, learning theory, youth development, methods of inquiry and assessment, and school reform.
POLS is a rigorous nine-month, full-time program that frames its core values on an in-depth understanding of policy, organizational management skills, and a firm grasp of formal and informal leadership, through an intensive set of core classes and thematically clustered courses that can be tailored to fit your unique professional goals. The POLS program is divided into three concentrations of specialization, from which you can further customize your course of study. These concentrations are: the Higher Education Concentration; the PreK-12 Concentration; and the Individually Designed Concentration (IDC). Additionally, the design of the program enables students to experience and benefit from a broad range of resources and course options across Stanford.
